The Pecatonica Guns, Hunting and Shooting show has a strong participation
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The annual Pecatonica gun, hunting and shooting exhibit pulled the trigger this weekend with a wide range of vendors set up on the grounds of the Winnebago County Fair. Businesses filled the large warehouse on Saturday afternoon with everything from firearms and ammunition to knives and accessories.
Marvin Kraus organized the exhibition this year. He said vendors from all over attended the event.
Love Park’s Bullet Stop, Titan’s International Knives, and stores as far as Kane County have come out.
Zahid Munir of Titan International Knives said events like this are a great way for him to gain more repeat customers.
âWhat is happening is that we are getting a lot of customers and we continue to buy from us regularly,â Munir said.
Munir said he liked going out into communities to reach more people.
âIt’s funny. We have a lot of customers in Rockford,â Munir said. âIt’s fun having a gun and knife show here. We really enjoy it.
Marv Kraus Promotions and SK Promotions hosted the event. Marvin Kraus said on Saturday the show was a success.
âIt’s going really well. We had a very good turnout, âsaid Kraus.
He said major ammunition dealers are an important target for customers.
I think there are a lot of people in Northwestern Illinois who have a hard time buying ammunition, âKraus said. âIt seems that all the box stores are really short and there is not enough ammunition. “
Kraus said the past year saw a surge in gun sales.
âEveryone is a little scared and just wants to protect themselves from whatever is going on,â Kraus said. “You know, realize that we are the first line of defense, it’s self-protection”
The exhibition continues Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
