Jamie Lee Curtis didn’t “get” Knives Out.

The seasoned actress played Linda, the writer of murdered writer Harlan (Christopher Plummer) in Rian Johnson’s 2019 thriller, and though she understood what was expected of her within the cast. , she did not fully appreciate the director’s vision for the film.

She confessed to Total Film magazine: “Those [whodunit] movies, I’m not a fan of them. They are a little scary. I’m the easily scary woman in the ‘Halloween’ franchise! So I don’t like a big thriller.

“I watch enough TV now… my husband hates me because I’m always like ‘Oh, I think that’s that guy!’

“[On ‘Knives Out’], I understood my work on this film. But I don’t think I really understood the whole movie. I don’t think I really understood what it was going to be.

And Jamie was stunned by the vision the “sweet” director had for the project.

She continued, “Rian Johnson… He’s so calm and so clear that you just don’t know him, because he’s so gentle and methodical, and he does what he does.

“But I had no idea what he was building.”

The 62-year-old star also didn’t expect the film to be such a big hit.

She admitted, “Even after seeing it, I had no idea it would be [be such a hit]. He has found his rhythm. He found his people – for the most part. In a big way. And I hadn’t expected that.

“Rian hit him f ****** out of the park, but just hit him so good.” And it was all in his head. Every second was in his head.
