General Education Department Completes Little Kites Grade Level Camps in Ernakulam District – The New Indian Express

KOCHI: School camps for Little Kites units operating under the General Education Department were completed in the district on Saturday. A total of 5,933 students selected on the basis of a software-based aptitude test of 183 units participated in the camp.

KITE CEO K Anwar Sadath said that twenty-five schools and students who cannot attend the camp due to the pandemic situation will have a chance when the situation becomes favorable. The strengths of the camp are programming and facilitation skills that will build students’ abilities in this area.

Face detection game and car racing game using Scratch Offline Editor in sessions included how to make an animation movie in Tupi Tube Desk based on “The journey of the untied kite” theme and how to make an application mobile. The school camps were organized under the guidance of teachers trained in these fields.

As an evaluation of the program, KITE master trainers shared their experiences with the children to enlighten them in these new areas via videoconference. Selection of students for the sub-district camp will be based on assignments given to students as part of camp activities, a statement said here.
