16-year-old boy caught with knives and money at Sewri station

A 16-year-old boy was arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Sewri station on Friday. Along with two sharp weapons, cops also seized 2,600 rupees in his possession, a railway official said adding that the boy was trying to board a local train from platform number one.

The incident took place around 12:15 yesterday on the occasion of Dussehra. The boy was attempting to board a local train with his two friends in a suspicious manner.

“While he was trying to board a local train, the RPF gendarmes on duty arrested him, while his two colleagues managed to escape. board the local train with him, ”railway officials said.

The RPF then handed it over to the GRP in Wadala, where further investigations are underway.

When FPJ contacted a Wadala GRP official, he said: “The boy is a minor and we have called his parents for further investigation. “

This is the second such incident in a year at Sewri station. Earlier on February 15, a drunken 20-year-old created a panic-like situation after entering the station manager’s office wielding a knife.

In another incident on February 22, a 20-year-old student was robbed by a mobile thief at Sewri station.
